My Town

My Town
My home town of ______ has crowded parking lots, shrill horns, dozens of teenagers driving back and forth are just a few of the familiar sounds on Main Street. This scenario repeated itself day in and day out for years when I still lived back home. This town, which I am all too familiar with, vastly differs now from the eventless serene atmosphere of life in this town now that my graduating class has moved on. Although this town still holds many desirable features, its life seems somehow to have been taken. The days in which the senior class of 2003 lived in my home town, were never dull. Perhaps it was the lack of relaxation, caused by the activity that made minutes seem like hours, and ironically, hours feel like minutes.
As I stepped outside my house, to see what the day would bring, my senses were immediately impacted with the town’s activity. On days when the wind was just right, the air smelled faintly, of sulfur from the gas plant on the outskirts of town. This was...
