My opinion (the simple version) in the Case of Bieké and Puerto Rico.After the Navy.

I don’t know if you are aware of the incident that happened in one of the Island of PR (Vieques). The Navy of the USA occupied this island, for 60 years. They have more than the %60 of the island, concentrating the people of Vieques (generations of families) in the center of their island. The Navy (as you should know) uses many deadly chemicals, one of the main is urain, and this chemical has increased the cancer rates in this small island, killing not only humans been, killing animals and plants, and the environment of many creature (as the “Pelicano Pardo” that only reproduced in that island).
