My Lost

1. In the early sixteenth century, the Spaniards came and conquered the Pueblo Indians, in the region of New Mexico, where they founded Sante Fe, which is now the state capital.
2. In 1680 the Indians revolted and drove the Spanish out of the region, but they soon reconquered it.

3. In 1821 the region became a Mexican province which failed to conquer, but the Republic of Texas wanted to move its western boundary to the Rio Grande that flows throw New Mexico.

4. During the Mexican War, the United States forces occupied and ruled the region with a military government; it was ceded to the United States by the Treaty of Guadelope Hidalgo, which ended the war.

5. In 1906 the territories of New Mexico and Arizona could become one state if the majority of voters from both territories approved Arizona voters opposed, thus the territorial status of New Mexico remained unchanged until 1912 when it was admitted to the union as a state.
