My Life

In the spring of 1967, in Roseburg, Oregon, the city of her pioneer forefathers, a girl was a born named Lucia Maria Rivera. She was born of a full blooded Italian father, Generoso Antonio Rivera and an original Oregon Trail family mother, Edith Almina Baker.
After Lucia, her parents then had two boys, Generoso Rivera and Ernest Rivera. They lived in many different locations, but always in the same community, Drain, Oregon. The family was relatively poor a result of the motherĀfs family disapproving of the marriage. The children were all very close, and often made up stories or pretended to be rock stars.
The family lived without television, so this resulted in Luci and her brothers learning to read at an early age and in having vivid imaginations to occupy their time. Also, everyone had to help around the house and garden, as the family raised all of the food they ate in their garden and by hunting and raising livestock.
