My future fesidence is Toronto

“I can’t wait to move out of Toronto”. Too often have I heard these words come out of the mouths of friends and acquaintances with such determination, such resolve. The statement is always followed with harsh criticism of the city; of its lack of excitement, opportunity, or adventure. I am always left silent; I am used to hearing the insults about Toronto by now, but have never understood them.
