- British naval power prevented Americans from trading with Central Powers and neutral countries in Europe, but the US simply protests, and did nothing else.
- US traded significantly more with Allies than with Germany- $23 billion with Allies and $29 million with Central Powers during outbreak of war- clear that economically we favor allies- they’re our natural trading partners- already partial to one side. Had more to gain economically from supporting allies than Germany.
- Britain and France borrowed money from the US and the US supplied Allied food and raw materials.
