I was absent the class last Thursday that I couldn¡¦t have to give this speech. So, I¡¦m standing here right now.

I have been living here in Seattle for the past two months. I came here to be with my parents as they are both getting old. It was not an easy decision for me to leave Taiwan, but I am sure that many people here had done the same.

Before I came here, I worked in the Taiwan television industry as a producer of many local television programs. It is a job that I had been doing for 20 years.
