MUSIC TODAY

Jennifer Collins Monroe is an active freelance bassoonist in Cincinnati, OH. During the 2000-2001 season, she held the position of Second Bassoon in the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed in concert with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Lexington Philharmonic, the Northern Kentucky Symphony, and the Cincinnati Ballet, among others.

An avid chamber musician, she has received awards at the Coleman and Carmel chamber music competitions as a member of the Reading Winds. In addition, Jennifer earned the distinction of being the first bassoonist to be named a Yamaha Young Performing Artist. She has participated in numerous summer festivals including the Sarasota Music Festival, the Chautauqua Music Festival and School, the Opera Theatre of Lucca, and the Aspen Music Festival, where she was the winner of the 1998 Wind Concerto Competition.
