Muscular Dystrophy

Muscular Dystrophy affects one in three thousand males and one in eight thousand females. It is a name given to a group of genetic diseases characterized by progressive weakness and degeneration of the skeletal or voluntary muscles which control movement. There are several different types of muscular dystrophy’s, but they all have three features in common. They are heredity, progressive, and each produces a pattern of weakness in the muscle groups.
