Have you ever been some where or done something that has changed your feelings about your self? Well that’s exactly what happened to me on December 10th 2002 when I left for basic Air force Basic training. I had no idea what to expect before I got there. The only thing that I had to go by was what I had heard from other people. All I heard was that “it Isn’t that bad”, But I had to find out for my self.
I was scheduled to leave Richmond to go to San Antonio, Texas. My plane left around 11:30 on Tuesday morning on the 10th of December. I arrived In San Antonio at about Five o’clock that same evening. Once I arrived at the airport I waited there for about two hours with around 100 other people leaving for basic training as well. Then a Drill Sergeant arrived and put us all in a bus, and we were on our way to Lackland Air Force Base to start our military careers.
