Monologue- sitting at home watching the 6 o clock news

Here I am, Tom Banks sitting in my trusty old armchair ready and
waiting. I never miss it you know 6 o’clock on the dot here I am without fail.
Big football fan you see. I’ve been a Leeds Fan for years, far too long for my old brain to remember but I’ll tell you one thing, we’ve never been this bad.
Football’s changed you know but you are all probably too young to remember when it wasn’t all about the money, it was about the quality on the pitch, not the millions off it.
Although I don’t go to Elland Road that often anymore, it is my back you see, when you get to my age your bones aren’t up to much good. Still go there sometimes though for the big games. I haven’t got a season ticket any more I used to but I can’t afford one these days. It was a stroke of luck anyway that I could ever afford to buy one, was just lucky enough to land myself a prestigious job at Blake’s Print shop which was a big step for a lad from my background. Anyway I find it hard to watch...
