Molloy by Beckett Never was America as close to the fire of the Great Depression than on the 11 of february when 2 planes were flown into the World Trade Center, with hundreds of passengers on board, by terrorists. They striked at the most sensitive part of the „money maker” America where thousands of business were done every single day. America was shocked and the disaster pushed it’s economy into recession, which she has not experienced since 1929. When in October of 1929 the Wall Street stock market collapsed after steady declines in production, prices and incomes over three previous months, which forced the speculators to revise their expectations. Anxiety soon gave place to panic which led to the crash. However the depression affected the differnt industrialized countries in various ways and degrees of intensity.
