Miltary draft

Since July 1, 1973, when the military draft had been abolished, the Army has been an all-volunteer outfit. The shift has given America a more professional Army. The idea of sending non-willing volunteers to adhere through grueling and suffering military training is truly unfair. The idea of having a military draft is basically forcing people to become slaves. Having to do whatever the high-ranking officials order one to do, when this person never really wanted to join the force. The draft often conscripts to young men and women who may very likely lose their lives in a foreign country. These are men and women who could have been productive to society. Another aspect of the military draft it is an infringement of people’s civil liberties. A person should not have to give up his or her rights to serve the country involuntarily. The military draf...
