In the short story, “Yellow Wallpaper”, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, a young woman, after being hurled into depression by a recent childbirth, shows her symptoms. At times, she may seem fine and may even feel fine, but everyone around her can see that she is anything but fine. Not only is this woman kept away from her own baby, but also she is kept locked away from the world in the safety of her own room.
