I chose Lennie for my analysis essay because he is alienated in different ways throughout the novel, “Of Mice and Men.” Lennie is alienated because of a few reasons: his intelligence, his size, and his out of reach, farfetched dreams. Lennie is always defending himself in the book. For example, Lennie’s encounter with Curley. Lennie hurts Curley because George says it’s ok. Lennie says a couple of times in the book, “I didn’t mean no harm, honest I didn’t” (63). People try their hardest at what they want but do not always have the qualities for achieving their goals.
