Mel Gibson

Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson was born on the 3rd of January in1956 in Peekskill, New York to Hutton and Ann Gibson. Mel was the sixth of eleven children. At the age of twelve Mel and his family moved to Sydney, Australia. He went to an all-boys Catholic school in Sydney where he was taunted for his American accent.

Mel studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). His stage appearances include ‘Death of a Salesman’. After graduating in 1977 Mel went to Adelaide to with the State Theatre Company of South Australia and appeared in different stage productions. He also appeared in several television series.
