Obtaining people's acceptance

If I was Harold Godwineson I would basically start using the feudal system. I would give my people land or money, and in return I would obtain their trust and support. This would help me not only to gain their trust and support but I would also maintain a larger and more powerful army. This will happen because all the people I have given land or money to will start to support me, so in any battle's with other countries or kings, these people will join my army in the battle.

Preparing for the two threats

If I were in Harold's position back in 1066, I would evaluate all the characteristics of both the armies, with the help of my army. I would try to workout which army would be more of a threat, which army I thought would attack first, which army was stronger and finally which army to fight first.
