Maverick Essay

Maverick is a quick witted card player who understands all aspects of poker. Maverick deceives the other players by losing all games in the first hour of the game. What the other players didn’t know was that he was carefully watching how they play, when they bluff and what they do before they bluff. Using his knowledge of the other players, Maverick quickly catches up and wins back the money he lost.

The fight scenes in the film were well choreographed adding a stylish action theme to the movie. Maverick’s fight early in the film with the cowboys was planned by Maverick. Maverick had paid the cowboys to run and cause trouble and lose the fight outside. Maverick did this because the tough Mexican card player would think he is strong and stay away from him.

The Indians in the film were stereotyped differently to what they are perceived as to others. Maverick spoke to the Indians in there native language and asked them to co-operate with him when he was with the townspeople. Mav...
