A long time ago 753 b.c. to be exact a man named Romulus founded a city near the Tigerus river. Romulus named the city Rome after him. Soon enough the city became populated with all types of people mostly poor icnawas plebeians. That is how rich divided the city and poor. As long as you were a roman citizen you could hold office in Rome. Caesar a great roman ruled over Rome for a long time but then he was assented. His great nephew Augustus became the ruler and rebuilt Rome.
