Matthews gospel

Question One
Are there sufficient reasons to overturn the long tradition of attribution of the gospel Matthew the apostle?

When you read the gospel according to Matthew and all the other gospels a few things become apparent very early on. The language used in each is different, the accounts of the events of Jesus’ life are not always the same or in the same order and some have parables and events that others leave out all together. This highlights a few things:

1. That they (the three synoptic gospels) seem to have the same basic story line.
2. Each is written placing different emphasis on different things.
3. This points out that each is probably written at different times and in different places.
4. Each gospel is however written to highlight the good news that God has given all of mankind the opportunity to find eternal peace and life everlasting.
