Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Mary Shelley, one of the best known and most famous horror writers, was known for her literary talent and active imagination. Mary Shelley's troubled life was reflected in the creation of her most famous creation Frankenstein. She is responsible for many fine literary works, but none are as famous as Frankenstein, the tale Shelley spins about a young doctor who tries to create a living being but instead creates a monster. (Woodbridge 1) She is given credit for being the young author of a book that became the first horror film, monster film, bionic film, publicly banned film, and the first of many Frankenstein films. Mary Shelley, born August 30, 1797, was the daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft, a famous feminist, and William Godwin, a philosopher and novelist.
