The eight clergymen and Martian Luther King Jr. both state in their letters differences and similarities they see. They both see that the answer to equality must be arrived at peacefully. Collectively they have different views the clergymen think that the laws against blacks are just, while Martian Luther King dose not.
When it came to negotiation King and the eight clergymen differed greatly on the way to go through that process. The eight clergymen wanted the situation to go through the courts and let time take its course. The eight clergymen also believed that no outsiders should be involved in the case. The clergymen believed that anyone that is outside of Birmingham, but Dr. King strongly disagrees with them and thinks that anyone that the laws has effected should be apart of the case.
