The author of Mark is technically anonymous, it doesn’t say who wrote it for sure but it’s believed to be written by John-Mark. The probable range for this book is between 55-68 A.D. By some it is believed to be the first of the four gospels written, it’s however uncertain. Mark moves quickly throughout the gospel, his favorite word appearing to be “immediately.” He bases it more on the doings of Jesus than the teachings, but he does explain the actions of Jesus with great detail, more so then Matthew or Luke. He does spend quite a bit of time writing about his death, taking up nearly 40% of the book talking in detail about the last eight days of his life and his resurrection.
