MARIA GORRETI

Maria Gorretti is a poor peasant who was born in Italy in the year of 1890. She was the third born out of six, her father died of malaria and her mother took over his job. When she was at the age of nine her father died and her situation got worse, later on she had to live with another man called Giovanni scissile and his son craved for Maria. The son of Giovanni was Alessandro a young teenager who plays a big role in Maria’s life. Maria did not want to be impure; she wanted to remain pure all her life. Mr. serenely left Maria’s family quite poor and often gave them little. Giovanni was the master of the fields, he was a count and thus his son was spoiled.
