Many of the characters in 'Of Mice and Men' have a dream.What are the dreams, why are they important to the charactersand are any of them fullfilled?

One of the main themes in ‘of mice and men’ is dreams, many of the charac-
ters in have dreams, although not all are fulfilled. Gorge, Lennie, Curly, Cur-
ley's wife, Candy and Crooks all have dreams.

Gorge's dream is to own a small ranch of his own and too live off ‘the fatta
the lan’, this dream is important to him because it gives him something to be-
lieve in, if he gets a ranch of his own he will be able to stop travelling to find
employment and settle down. He may eventually fulfil his dream but it is un-
likely due to Lennie's death.

Lennie wants to live with Gorge on their ranch and tend to the rabbits be-
cause he likes to pet soft things. He is desperate to fulfil his dream, ‘Out of
Lennie's head ...
