Dziga Vertov’s film, Man with a Movie Camera, is a unique way of viewing society in Soviet Union, 1929. It was almost as if Vertov was telling a story with his camera. The film has a strange sort of plotting that starts out as if it is a documentary about the work force. Beginning with a woman getting up in the morning, and then all the “husle and bustle” of the city, trains and street cars, people walking up and down the streets.
