Macbeth

Macbeth and Willy Loman were two very different individuals in two very different times, but both were very flawed in their outlook on life. While Macbeth’s tragic flaw was his “vaulting ambition,” Willy Loman could never accept the fact that his son was just the same as everyone else in the world. Lady Macbeth and Linda Loman, the wives of each character, also contributed to each of their deaths.
Macbeth dealt with conflict as though the only way around it was to lie, cheat, and kill. William Shakespeare used dramatic irony when his character Macbeth thought that by killing the king he could slide into his position and the deed would be done. However, the readers knew that Macbeth would have to keep killing and lying to cover up the previous murders. Willy went about it almost just like Macbeth; except for he left out the mass murders.
