Heirs to the throne


The rise and fall of a kingdom depends on the king and the heir of the king, so it is important for the king to choose a suitable heir to the throne. In order to pick an heir to the throne between the three candidates, King Duncan must look at the advantages and drawbacks of each one in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Out of the three candidates – Macbeth, Malcom, and Macduff – the heir must have the best qualifications suited for the job, such as, leadership, he must be trustworthy, and he has to be able to perform all of the expected duties of king.

When King Duncan dies, one of the better candidates suited for the job would be Macbeth. He would make an excellent king because he has all the qualities that a king needs: he is merciful, he is a good leader, but he is also insane near the end of the book.
