Macbeth: How do you feel about Macbeth now that he is king?

Macbeth’s predictions from the weird sisters have been fulfilled. The usurper sits on the throne, but, it is clear to us that his demise has already begun.

We see the signs of his compunction to his treachery, treason and regicide. In his conversation with lady M he demonstrates his torment:

“O, full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife!”

One could almost feel sorry for him as he makes us feel as if he is truly sorry for his irrevocable actions, showing himself to be a man with a great deal of sensitivity and imagination. But, he is soon letting his “Vaulting ambition,” take over once again. He is at once too intensely ambitious to allow his conscience to stop him from murdering his way to security and too conscientious to be happy with himself as a murderer.

It is soon evident that the noble warrior is now a wicked and corrupt monarch letting nothing stand in his way. As Macbeth executes his reign of terror, we see him realise that his throne is not a secu...
