Due to his guilt, Macbeth experiences hallucinations before he kills Duncan. In fear of being discovered, Macbeth hires three murderers to kill his loyal friend Banquo. The murder of Macduff’s family shows the reader that Macbeth has no sense of moral value by killing innocent people. Preceding the first murder Macbeth experiences hallucinations due to his guilt. Macbeth has thoughts about killing Duncan because he believes according to the witches Prophecy he should be King. However, it is shown to the reader that Macbeth’s conscience comes into play and it appears he doesn’t have the heart to perform such an act. He begins questioning his ambition to obtain what he wants, until his wife intervenes. She calls Macbeth a coward and tells him that killing Duncan is the right thing to do. At this point...
