MacBeth

Macbeth was a good man who was lead into becoming evil by the witches and his love for Lady Macbeth. Doing so he loses everyone dear to him. He is tormented and overpowered by his conscience and in the end his decisions lead him to his horrible fate.

Macbeth puts himself in harms way to protect the king. He challenged the lord who threatened Duncan’s rule and doing this with pride and courage. Duncan knows that he is a good man and praises him with words like ‘valiant cousin’ and ‘worthy gentleman’ for he is a nobleman, true and loyal to his king.

When the witches confront Macbeth for the very first time and they inform him that in the future he will be king, he feels that murder is not the way to achieve the crown stating, “If chance will have me King, why, chance may crown me”.
