Lunch is Served
The bell rang. It was noon, finally time for lunch. Students rushed from left and right, racing to be first in line. Unfortunately, I had to walk downstairs in order to precede the hall leading to the cafeteria. Therefore, I arrived a little too late; the line was terribly long. I glanced at the clock; it was already 12:15, only forty-five minutes remaining. While standing in line, I checked the weekly menu. Yuck! We are having ham and cheese sandwiches for the second time this week.
High school students in Louisiana experience this typical scenario everyday. Large schools such as Morgan City High School, which consists of eight-hundred students and faculty, have this problem daily. Cooking and serving a variety of food for the whole school is nearly impossible. The first predicament is the limited food options. There are two choices of entrees available...
