Lucy Maud Montgomery

Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on November 30th 1874 in Clifton, Prince Edward Island. At the age of two her mother, Clara Woolner Macniel, died of tuberculosis. After her mother died, Maud was sent to live with her maternal grandparents in Cavendish.
Lucy Maud Montgomery started reading a an early age. She started to write in school and at fifteen she had her fist poem published. After she finished school, Maud qualified for a teacher’s license at Prince Wales Collage, Charlottetown....
