INTRODUCTION:
Luby’s, Inc, once known as Luby’s Cafeterias, Inc. is a chain of cafeteria style restaurants established in 1947 and headquartered out of San Antonio, TX. The corporation is very well known throughout the state of Texas with nearly 200 properties strategically located near retail centers, business centers, and residential areas and also has establishments in nine other southern and southwestern states. Luby’s is also traded on the New York Stock exchange under the symbol LUB.
Luby’s idea is to serve good food at reasonable prices, using the cafeteria concept and marketing to all who want quick healthy meals. Luby’s had been a flourishing company for a number of years, but within the last decade or so has shown a steady and significant decline in both revenue and market share.
