The book under review this week is the novel Speak by Laurie Anderson. Laurie writes a compelling novel about a young girl who was raped at a summer party right before her freshman year. After she was raped she called the cops. Everyone at the party and the school believed that she was calling the cops on the party and because of that the girl became the pariah of her high school in the first year. Laurie connects with the teen audience when she wrote this book. It relates to what teenagers have to deal with in school. This book keeps you on your toes and into what was happening in the novel.
