Louis XIV

King Louis XIV was a very young leader at the time, and was often referred to as “the Sun King.” Louis was called “the Sun King,” because he was the center of France’s government, and the sun is the center of the solar system. Basically they are the same thing.

Since Louis XIV was very, very young, he had Cardinal Jules Mazarion was left in charge- basically, he was the government official that controlled France.
The Fronde were a series of terrifying riots that began in Paris and spread throughout the county side. Since Louis was so little, he was afraid- and would often hide from rebels. The people felt weary of this disorder and fighting. They accepted laws of the absolute king, because they felt that this was far better than what was going on.

Louis had a great lifestyle. One of his favorite things to do was eat. Since he loved eating so much, he had over 500 cooks, waiters, and other servants working ...
