As Virgil and I carried on downward towards the ends of hell the air was stiff and rigid. As we pushed on, the temperature dropped and my soul began to shiver. I found myself clasping my torch tighter and tighter. The warmth of the flame pushed me on. As the sun reflects its shimmering light off water, so the frost on the stones gleamed back at back at me with a sinister bite. Virgil scolded the souls who grasped his leg, searching for the warmth that emanated from him. This area of hell was nothing like we had seen before. Long pillars of ice erupted to what seemed to be infinity. We were entering the part of hell named sustenance. This was for people who withheld something vital to another man. My heart was chilled as something flew by. It repeated what seemed to be of some importance to it.
“I’ve lost my way, no way to go.
I fear the falling, cold white snow.
