Austin, Texas, June second the West Kerr Ranch, owned by Barbara Kana and her family, was named the "Statewide Lone Star Land Steward" from the 10 private landowners, a wildlife management association, and a corporation foundation previously selected this year. The awards ceremony was held in Austin, Tuesday, June 1. Among the dignitaries presenting the awards were: Lee M. Bass, chairman of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, Joseph Fitzsimons, chairman of the Private Lands Advisory Board, and Andrew Sansom, executive director of Texas Parks and Wildlife. The event was sponsored by the Federal Land Bank Association.
