Lord of the Flies

The story takes place during World War II, possibly at the beginning of the war itself. In the beginning of the novel, a group of English school kids is on an airplane, fleeing their homes, after the war began, to go to a safe place. During the trip, the plane is caught on a storm, and is hit by lightning. The plane goes down and crashes on a small, deserted island. Out of all the passengers, no adults survive the crash, and the kids are left to survive on their own.

Later, one of the surviving kids, Ralph (who is one of the main characters) meets up with Piggy (they call him piggy because of his appearance). While walking along the beach, they find a conch shell, which Ralph figured out that the conch could be used as a horn or trumpet, and they thought that if they would sound it, the other surviving kids would come to them.

After they rally up all the surviving kids, he meets Jack the “leader” of the choir boys. Later on, the kids cast a vote, and decide who will be ...
