Lonesome: Guy Montag
Guy Montag is a thirty-year-old fireman who lives in a small town. Guy Montag is a misguided person. “ I’m going to do something,” said Montag. “I don’t even know what yet, but I’m going to do something big,” (65). This is an example of foreshadowing; Montag is planning something that he will do in the future, even though he doesn’t know what it is that he is going to do. Montag is always being told what to do and in planning his big moment he feels like he is in charge of himself for the first time.
Along with many other things Montag is Confused. He doesn’t know what to do with his life, and he doesn’t understand things that are happening in society today. “Jesus God,” said Montag. “Every hour so many Damn things in the sky!
