Living Like Weasels

In this essay “Living like weasels” by “Annie Dillard" she writes about her short and close confrontation with one of the world's smallest carnivores “ the weasel” in the Hollins Pond. The line, “I have been reading about weasels because I saw one last week” shows that the weasel influenced her mind so much that she continued to think about him even after one week. It was the first time she saw a wild animal so closely. She was astounded to see a weasel, “ten inches long, thin as a curve, a muscled ribbon, brown as fruitwood, soft-furred”.He had fiercely pointed like lizard face and “two black eyes.” Both Dillard and weasel got “stunned into stillness” to see each other. Their eyes locked and their brain got into each other’s. The weasel disappeared and the meeting got over. The weasel might have got engaged in his necessary tasks for survival. Dillard continued to think about him. She found weasel’s characteristics quite impressive.
