Life is beutiful

The book Night and the movie “ Life is Beautiful are two of a kind. They show

the hardships of the Jewish people during World War Two and the bond between father

and son. There are many differences and many similarities between the book and movie.

The father and son duo’s in both movie and novel become closer as well as further apart

as the conditions during the war and in the concentration camps change.

The father and son relationship in the book Night and the movie “Life is

Beautiful” have so much in common. In both book and movie the father shows early

compassion for his son when the are being taken from their homes. Both fathers, Guido

from “Life” and Weisel from Night, give their children, Joshua from “Life” and Elie from

Night, nourishment in the form of bread when they are hungry. Guido and Weisel both

lie to make sure Joshua and Elie are safe from harm. Despite the similarities between the
