Lewis and Clark

Lewis and Clark are famous for their expedition. Lewis was born on August 18, 1774 in Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville, Virginia.
When he was little his father, William, taught him the family motto, “ To the brave man, everything he does is for his country.” His father died in 1779, and his mother, Lucy, remarried Meriwether. When Lewis was older, he joined the army. Before long a full time soldier. He was transferred under the command of Officer of William Clark.
