Introduction

In today’s society, there are many different kinds of harmful drugs. As we can all agree, crack cocaine, heroine, and other drugs of this nature are a poison to the world and should be outlawed forever. Marijuana, on the other hand, is an illegal drug that many people feel is not bad for us. It is still illegal in the United States, but it does not have near the harmful effects of many other dangerous and illegal drugs. There is a constant battle between citizens who want the drug to be legalized and those who are opposed.
Each year, the government spends millions and millions of dollars to fight the illegal growing and distribution of marijuana, along with millions and millions of dollars to punish those who are caught doing it. The argument then posed is this, If marijuana was legalized, the government could save hundreds of millions of dollars each year which could be used for other things that would benefit society, such as fun...
