Nat Turner

Nat Turner is one of the most powerful rebel leading figures throughout his time. When slavery became a very big deal in the states, he led one of the most bold, bloody rebellions that shook the U.S congress and its leaders, and representatives to think twice about slavery.
Nat Turner was born in Southampton County, Virginia right before the execution of the rebellious leader for slaves, Gabriel Prosser. Turner’s father had escaped from his plantation and was thought to have fleeted with other African-Americans to North Carolina or south of Virginia. Turner’s mother was always there for him and lived with him in his plantation where they were kept as slaves. Turner learned how to read and write and was a very bright young man.
