Kelimutu

Kelimutu is a heart-warming short story written by an Indonesian woman, Titie Said. This story encompasses the uniting of a race of people working together to overcome the tyranny of the Dutch who are trying to colonise their country. But most of all Kelimutu is about the sacrifice of life made for the love of family and country. Said is able to display the theme of love through the reader positioning techniques, point of view, tone, selection of detail and language.

Through the use of the third person limited point of view Said is able to explore the theme of love. If Said where to use the first person point of view the reader would not be able to see the way that Messi and Montero feel about their love for each other and their country.
