Josie and The Pussycats Product Placements

The media and advertising are a mass communication; they are a connection that is all over the world. Media and advertisements are used to inform, entertain, and also influence people and their surroundings. Today most of the advertising is aimed at young people, promoting products such as food, drink, music, films and clothing to young consumers. Whenever one picks up a magazine, turns on a Television, goes to a movie theater or even listens to music they are persistently shown advertisements and product placements in the media. Advertisers spend millions of dollars every year trying to influence product purchases on young people, especially teenagers. The constant bombardment of what is “cool” today is overwhelming, and teenagers have become the biggest market for contemporary advertising. Josie and the Pussycats is an extreme example of product placement in a film directed toward an adolescent audience.
