John Steinbeck

John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California on February 27, 1902. His parents were John Ernst Steinbeck, and Olive Hamilton Steinbeck. They were not an exceedingly rich family, but they were very well known in their small hometown. Young John was rebellious, and by the time he was 14, he had decided to be a writer.
