John Keats poem:"When I have fears that I may Cease to Be"

In John Keats’ poem “When I Have Fears that I May Cease to Be,” the speaker creates a poem in which he expresses the concerns and fears that lay upon his heart. He alludes to three major concerns for his life throughout the work. His metaphors are a large part of the meaning behind the poem; they create visual links between the speaker’s world and reality for the audience. Keats’ vocabulary is also expressive of how he views his situation; it stems from the metaphorically rich words. This poem is a map of the speaker’s mind and soul; he uses the words as a canvas on which to paint his life.
The speaker is faced with the idea that death is soon approaching and he begins to think about life and its meaning. The speaker decides on three concerns that he believes are meaningful to his life.
