Joan of Arc

In 1412, a girl was born that would inspire a nation and spawn numerous movies. Joan of Arc was born to Jacques and Isabella Darc on the eve of the end of peace between France and England. It was said that roosters crowed with joy when Joan was born. A civil war broke out in France shortly thereafter. Sources say that Joan was an excellent little girl who was marvelous, always helping her parents and gaining the love of her village. Joan was said to give an unusual praise to God and help the sick. The British were making short work of the French military sent to oppose them because the two most powerful French factions were to busy fighting each other. The poor farmers had no chance against a professional army. Joan’s father rented a castle near the town to keep the towns’ people and animals safe incase of a British assault.
